Salvete Quirites!

I have now arrived from the Nova Roman Rally in Tongeren/Hasselt in Belgium. This was a most pleasant, humorous and happy Rally. The absolutely dominating factor were the participants, a most lovely bunch of crazy Romans.

The following Romans and Barbarians attended: Honorable Manius Constantinus Serapio, Illustrus Sextus Apollonius Scipio, Honorable Caius Curius Saturninus, Honorable Emilia Curia Finnica, Honorable Diana Apollonia Aventina, Honorable Lucius Salix Cicero, Honorable "Kevin Apollonius Scipio", Illustrus Tiberius Apollonius Cicatrix (Grandfather of Kevin ;-) ), Honorable Marcus Octavius Solaris, the bunch of Barbarians ;-) from the pagan Federation and our favorite
Barbarian Dimiitri.

The tone during this Rally was jovial and jokes were in the air the whole time. I think that we all could feel the warmth of our common citizenship, even the barbarians could feel it I think.

Mixed with two guided tours in the city of Tongeren and another in the Gallo Roman museum in the same town, lunches and two dinners, we held a number more or less formal meetings. The topics were the Proviniae (Gallia, Italia, Thule and Britannia), the Academia, different subject within Egressus, next year's Rally, the history of the Old Roman Republic and the inner workings of the Nova Roman Republic and more. Laughs, serious talk and walking was mixed under the Gallo-Roman sky of Regio Belgica (Germania Superior).

Honorable Caius Curius Saturninus and Honorable Emilia Curia Finnica organized the whole thing from Regio Finnica. With the splendid help of Honorable Diana Apollonia Aventina all local contacts were organized and she acted as a very competent scout, because of her and some friends of hers we found our way in Belgium at large and especially in Hasselt/Tongeren.

I want to thank _all_ that participated in the Rally and most of all the above mentioned three organizers and members of my Cohors Aedilis. I am very glad to have met You all and this way have gotten more than a dozen new friends! ;-)

See You all in Provincia Italia next year! ;-)
